Setting

Little Orleans Campground is located on 222 acres of beautiful woodlands in the Upper Potomac river valley in Western Maryland and provides a total camping experience. The campsites are spaciously located within the forest area for your nature enjoyment. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table and each RV site has electric, water and sewer. The Chesapeake & Ohio Canal is located beside the Potomac river ½ mile to the south for additional hiking and biking. There is also a boat ramp located at that point on the river that is ideal for canoeing and small craft. There is a canoe rental service adjacent to the property. Immediately to the north of the campground is the 46,000-acre Green Ridge State Forest which offers numerous hiking trails and scenic spots as well as trails that are specifically designated for ATVs! New mountain biking trails have been developed nearby as well. Fifteen-mile Creek runs through the property and is a stocked trout stream. For little ones, there is a small fishing pond located by the main facility complete with ducks.

Office/Campstore

The main facility houses a recreation room with pool tables, pinball machines, and many other games as well as a convenience store. A large selection of RV parts, hunting supplies, and fishing equipment is available for sale; as are firewood and ice. There is a playfield outside the main building that contains two swimming pools, a basketball court, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and a newly-built log playhouse with slides, swings and a bridge. Across from the playfield is the comfort station, which provides hot showers and a new coin-operated laundry room.

Seasonal

For Fall sportsmen, there is a state-owned and operated shooting range located within 14 miles of the property.

Group Camping

We offer a group camping area that is ideal for scout troops and large family camping trips, and we have a large pavilion with a built-in grill that is excellent for picnics.
