The Optimist is recognized as the leading trainer for youngsters and is raced in sanctioned competition by boys and girls up to age 15.  It is safe, responsive, and will quickly teach anyone the basics of sailing.    (Taken from 1982 catalog.)

Zephyr 11An all fiberglass, multi-purpose sailing dinghy.  The Zephyr is easily single-handed sailed and is transported on cartop, in a station wagon or on her handy, lightweight trailer.

Mast and boom fit easily inside the hull during transport and she can be stored most anywhere.  Zephyr's unstayed mast is lightweight (only 8 pounds) and slips easily into position - no tools required..  Her reinforced transom has a built-in motor mounting pad and she's adequately powered with a 2 to 4 HP short shaft outboard.

The rudder removes instantly and can be assembled to "tip up" if you prefer.  Her daggerboard lowers and raises for beaching and removes instantly for trailering or cartop transport..  She sails in the shallowest of water.    (Taken from 1982 catalog.)

Sea Gull 12 :    Her spacious cockpit and wide, comfortable side deck seating accommo-dates 2 to 4 with room left over for a portable cooler or other gear, too.

The single mainsail and simple rigging makes single-handling the Sea Gull a snap.  She's ideal for beginners and experienced sailors alike.  She points well, has a wide beam for good stability and has top-flight racing performance.  The rudder removes instantly for beaching and transport… and, if desired, and can be assembled to "tip up".  (An option explained in step-by-step instructions.)  Sea Gull's daggerboard lowers and raises for beaching, shallow water sailing and is instantly removable for cartopping or trailer transport.

Sea Gull is self-rescuing and unsinkable with recommended flotation in the hull.  Cockpit footwell and seating areas have molded-in non-slip surface and there's even a hiking strap provided in the footwell, too!  (Taken from 1982 catalog.)

Surfrider's lightweight planing hull is easy to carry and rigging on the beach takes only a couple of minutes.  Surfrider has a flexible, swiveling mast base, the foam filled hull is unsinkable and the deck surface has a non-skid finish for sure footing.  The lightweight anodized aluminum mast and wishbone boom are distortion free and unsinkable (foam filled).  Surfrider's hull is reinforced at all points of stress, and because the hull is fiberglass, it's easily repaired if needed.

It's easy to learn to sail your Surfrider and the boat can be trimmed for varying wind and sailing conditions (mast and skeg each have adjustable positions) and skeg and centerboard swing up for beaching.    (Taken from 1981 catalog)
