The tension of graduation, failure notices, and Mr. Dane's mean- ness made Barbara Mae Pawlak decide to leave this Earth the day after graduation in her super-sonic racket ship equipped with plenty of V. 0. She was happy away from the strife of her life in Manor, but after ten years or so at the Moon, she began to get lonesome away from her former classmates with only Robbie the Robot to keep her company, so she asked her little steel friend to produce a telescope so that she could peer down at all the fellow Mortonites of the class of 1956, to see what they were doing and this is what she saw,...,
The first vision she sees is centered on gay Paree. She sees ten, no, twenty handsome men posing for the latest art prodigy here. Well, who do you think it is, but Mary Jane Aiken, beret and all. And way over on tha other side of the world in a little shack way out in the country in Alabama she sees Yvonne Albert in a worn out gingham dress with twenty five kids crying, Ma, Ma, hanging on to her apron strings while Pa sleeps on the front porch. Back in Chicago, she sees Joanie Alexander R. N. with all of her five feet, married to young Dr. Malone, who is seven feet five inches tall. Now, Barb turns her telescope toward Southern Illinois to Meduca where in a remodeled barn, we see the Tom Allen Medical Center. Back in Cicero, we see Paul Augustyn crying because Paul Jr. didn't make Morton's basketball team. In Arizona she sees Chas. Baas on a "Dude" ranch with eighteen little "dudes." In a New York office sits Zon Bohnick president of the Women Haters club of the United Statea beating his sec- retary Janico Balcer. Flying across the U. S. wc see Eleanor Balsanek in Reno pawning her last engagement ring to divorce her tenth husband. Back in Berwyn, we see Elaine Barcal ordering one hundred boxes of cookies from Maurice Lenell Cookie Company for a class reunion inbetween playing her violin concerts at thc Sokol Hall. Down in Florida, there's Sandy Barnes as a swimming instructor at the Golden Palm Hotel, Back to see Cicero, at the Manor Jewel she sees Ken Barth, a produce man waiting out- side for his white El Dorado Cadillac and chauffeur. Now to Washington D. C. there's Curt Barthel correcting Einstein's Theory. At the Olympics we see Ron Basak who just broke the worlds record in the 2 minute mile race. Gee, that fellow is speedy. At the Bastar Optical Company she sees Ed Bastar squinting trying to see the key hole so that he can open the door. Ooops and there goes---swish---Ted Beastall. Oh and here at Andies Candies there's Pat Becker making up her 15,000 box of fudge balls. Over in Athens, Greece there's Nick Bezanis posing for the new Apollo statue to be put in front of the city hall. What museles! At McNeal Hospital in the operating room she sees Ruth Biener R. N. handing her husband, John Hessel M. D. a hatchet for his operation. My, my, there's Ed Boddy still wearing his Sckera jacket on the way over to Carole's house. And here's Dr. Carole Bosma on the way over to Judy Brejcha's house to de- liver her "latest" as she's taken leave from her teaching. Now to Berwyn sees Cicero's leadind citizen, Dotty Brazda still active in her community. Art the Silver Frolics Luscious Roberta Brownell is doing her Fire dance, while Les "Red Leg" Bundrick sits in the front row clapping away. At a Cook County court there's Judge Bill Butchcr trying Valerie Buzan's case of drunken driving. Barb, now turns her telescope toward Karen Van Huezen's Zoo where Nancy Butts is operating a peanut stand. Audrey Byland still has a bad case of strep throat from giggling. Bob Byrne, the smiling show salesman at Maling's in Berwyn is selling a thousand pairs a day with thc help of the head clerk, RoseMarie Mondek. The Barb Capek and Carole Hitchcock Freckle Co. is doing a booming business. Also at the Olympics is Roy Carlson who just took first place for the United States in a tennis match. In the Cicero Life, Kathy Carraro has just taken over the socicty column. In Acapulco, Mexico, there's Char Carter teaching water
